Under general supervision, provides a variety of respiratory therapy treatments to patients with respiratory problems; performs generally semiroutine or diversified duties requiring judgement in the application of broader aspects of established practices and procedures.
Required Minimum Certification:
Registered as a Respiratory Therapist by the National board for Respiratory Care and licensed as a Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) by the Georgia Composite State Board of Medical Examiners.
AMC-current BLS required
Required Minimum Skills:
Considerable knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, techniques, methods and their proper applications. Considerable knowledge of respiratory anatomy, physiology and nature of respiratory diseases.
Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Working knowledge of the various medications used in respiratory therapy.
Ability to install and maintain equipment.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, patients, and physicians.
