The University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System (UI HEALTH) is seeking a Clinical Physician to join its Palliative Care team.
The Clinical Physician, Palliative Care, under administrative direction, will independently perform physician history and physical examinations for a broad range of patients referred for palliative care services. Will be responsible for providing palliative care services and providing clinical expertise within the palliative care team.
They will work in collaboration with other palliative care team members to provide comprehensive palliative care consultations for assigned patients. This includes completion of a health assessment, participating in determination of prognosis, and planning/recommending treatment within the parameters of medical staff privileges at UI Health and area of expertise and billing for services.
They will identify opportunities for improvement of access to palliative care, overall patient and family experience and education of other clinicians.
Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy from an accredited medical school required.
Board-certified or board-eligible in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
Licensed (or in the process of obtaining license) to practice medicine in Illinois. In good standing with medical board.
Licensed by the drug enforcement agency (DEA) to prescribe schedule II drugs.
Exceptional communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Able to type proficiently with intermediate computer knowledge.
