The License Clinical Social Worker is an advocate for the patient's right to self-determination, confidentiality, access to supportive services and resources, and appropriate inclusion in decision making that affects their health and well-being. This position will be an active participant and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team by recognizing and offering services that address the biopsychosocial needs of the patient.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with the California Board of Behavioral Science.
MSW and two years of postgraduate experience in a medical and/or mental health setting.
Knowledge and understanding of individual, child, and family development, human behavior and communication, the influence of culture and values in social work practice, psychotherapy, case management, and the relation ship between social work practice and medicine.
Knowledge of child abuse, elder abuse, and domestic violence reporting requirements, and other significant legislation and laws regulating social work practice, e.g. Tarasoff, patient confidentiality, etc.
Knowledge of community resources.
Ability to demonstrate and teach clinical skills in individual, child and family assessment/treatment.
Knowledge of and ability to effectively use current DSM manual.
Knowledge of suicidal behavior, the ability to assess lethality, and the ability to develop appropriate treatment plan.
Knowledge of legal requirements and guidelines for providing psychiatric services including the appropriate use of 5150.
Knowledge of and ability to perform mental status exams.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: verbal, written and listening. .
Skills, knowledge and ability to support the policies and procedures of the Department of Clinical Social Services and U.C. Davis Health System preferred.
Must be able to work variable schedule which includes weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of our patients.
