Franciscan Physician Network is seeking an experienced Board Certified Sports Medicine physician with five years of experience to serve as the Head Team Physician at the prominent Purdue University.
WHAT WE NEED:
Ideal candidates will have a background and experience in university athletics. Will have a strong focus in college athletics, ability to communicate and interactive closely with student athletes, coaching staffs, administration and associated multi-disciplinary medical team. The candidate must possess the ability to handle high profile sports while willing to serve as the Head Team Physician for all student-athletes. Candidate will display exceptional interpersonal skills and ensure the delivery of the exceptional care to collegiate athletes.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
Daily – Flexible hours with dedicated clinic hours
Football practice coverage
Game day coverage for selected sports as needed
Seasonal travel during football season
Occasional travel with other sports that achieve post-season playoffs
Travel for post season tournaments in selected sports and football bowl games)
Function as the Team Physician for the Purdue Athletic Department with over 500 student athletes
Overarching care of all student-athletes with specific sport assignments
Provide medical care for varsity student athletes including, but not limited to, general primary care, non- operative orthopedic care, minor procedures, substance abuse education, and testing
Medical coverage for on and off-campus events for the Purdue University Department of Athletics, including visiting teams as needed
Provide medical supervision for staff athletic trainers/physical therapists
Directly report to the Associate Athletics Director – Director of Sports Medicine
Serve as instructor for Health & Kinesiology: Athletic Training Curriculum
Comprehensive on site medical clinic including imaging
Committed and Reputable Patient Multi-disciplinary Team including Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, Sport Dieticians, Sports Psychologists, Strength & Conditioning Coaches and Orthopedic Specialists
