Academic start salaries are determined by qualifications and years of related experience as detailed in the current Collective Agreement for Academic Employees.
The successful candidate will be required to teach courses in the Bachelor of Behavioural Science program at the Lakeshore campus. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include: curriculum development; lesson planning; assessing student progress and achievement; and class management. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to play an active role in student advising, student recruitment, and graduate placement.
The candidate will be expected to further develop community partnerships, as well as participate on Humber College/Departmental committees and advance college initiatives. This individual will also contribute to the overall direction of the program, assisting with the promotion and marketing of the program, and developing and maintaining strong industry ties.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Psychology or Applied Behaviour Analysis, with preference for accreditation from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. In addition, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience and 5 years working in the human services field in employment related to Applied Behaviour Analysis, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, or Counselling. The successful candidate will have proven teaching ability at the post-secondary level, demonstrated experience teaching to a diverse group of students and a commitment to excellence in the classroom. Additional qualifications include: demonstrated understanding of, and competency in, the teaching/learning profession with a learning-centered approach; demonstrated ability in curriculum development and delivery; possess well-developed interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills and superior and demonstrable written and oral communication, mediation, and teamwork; proven ability to work in a diverse environment and demonstrated understanding of equity and inclusion; demonstrated high degree of attention and focus to detail.
