Plans, coordinates, and reviews the daily procedural schedule in the Outpatient Surgery-Gray’s Woods; works with Anesthesia to direct the daily flow of procedures through the Geisinger GWII ASC. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area.
Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction.
Works under the direction of the Geisinger GWII ASC Clinical Director and the Geisinger GWII ASC Medical Director. Works with other members of the management team and employees to achieve fiscal, service, and quality targets. Contributes to the professional growth of oneself and the Geisinger GWII ASC team.
Serves as a part of the Geisinger GWII ASC team and therefore is accountable for demonstrating behaviors and skills that support the success of the team. Self-motivated. Supports Geisinger GWII ASC staff in all areas as needed. Participates in cross training
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates good organizational skills and effective communication skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Requires a Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Pennsylvania or eligible for licensure, BSN or health related degree recommended (experience in lieu of degree will be accepted).
BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred provider status within the first year of employment and responsible to maintain provider status thereafter. ACLS and PALS not required for Clinical Nurse Supervisor RN, OR.
Minimum of three to five years nursing experience in an Operating Room or in a Pre op/PACU required.
Ambulatory Surgery experience preferred.
Managerial experience preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed in both a clinical and office environment.
Adheres to dress code. Appearance is neat and clean. Reports to work on time and as scheduled. Wears ID badge while on duty. Completes time card honestly and accurately. Limits lunch and breaks to scheduled time and maintains flexibility to allow coverage and efficiency within the Geisinger GWII ASC.
