Willow Springs Center has an opening for a Per Diem Substitute Teacher.
The purpose of this position is to develop and deliver educational opportunities for children who are patients at Willow Springs Center.Â They will be called upon to liaise with other educators, families, guardians and providers to develop an educational plan that supports the overall treatment plan.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Understands the cognitive processes associated with various kinds of learning (e.g. critical and creative thinking, problem structuring, problem solving, invention, memorization and recall) and ensures attention to these learning processes so that students can master content standards.
Instructs patient in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedure of the Willow Springs Treatment Center.
Analyzes, demonstrates, and explains basic skills, knowledge and strategies of formal sports, games, rhythms, and fundamentals of body movement.
Provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil, to the extent feasible.
Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive environment in the physical education areas.
Evaluates each pupil's growth in physical skills, knowledge, and contribution in team sports.
Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district, and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
Communicates with parents and counselors on pupil progress.
Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned work day.
