The Department of Psychology at Suffolk University announces a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2019 to teach primarily in the Master’s of Mental Health Counseling Program (pending final budgetary approval). Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in counselor education, counseling psychology, or clinical psychology at the time of appointment, with preference for candidates with a doctoral degree in counselor education from a CACREP-accredited program. Candidates must also be licensed or license-eligible in the state of Massachusetts.
We have particular needs for master’s-level instruction in practicum and internship classes, research methods, and counseling diverse populations that meet during evening hours, though the candidate may also be asked to teach undergraduate and doctoral-level courses. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher-scholar with expertise in counseling to train aspiring clinicians. Area of scholarship is open, although we are particularly interested in candidates with a developing or established research program involving diverse and/or underserved populations. The successful candidate will also be expected to engage in service within the Department, College, and University.
