Texas NeuroRehab Center (TNC) provides complex medical and brain injury rehab, chemical dependency treatment for adults and neuropsychiatric treatment for youth. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges. Texas NeuroRehab Center is currently accepting applications for a Patient Care Technician (PCT). A Patient Care Technician or CNA assists in the direct care and management of patients across all age ranges with medical and behavioral issues as directed by the treatment team. Rehab Techs provide assistance with unit programming to facilitate the carryover of therapy issues, leisure activities, and activities of daily living within the functional ability of patients and with consideration for the patient's level of growth and development. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following: Assures a safe, nurturing, clean, & supportive environment. Accompanies & actively supervises patients in activities of daily living (ADLs), appointments, & recreational activities that occur both on & off the living unit. Actively assists therapists & teachers with patients to provide therapeutic & / or educational activities. Serves as a role model for patients, visitors, & staff. Works as a team member to promote a positive work environment. Documents patient behaviors, condition, & progress on a daily basis by recording data in the prescribed format. Progress notes in the medical record accurately reflect behavioral data as well as activities. Charting is thorough & descriptive. Provides hands-on physical care, supervision, crisis intervention, behavior management, & behavior modification as directed by the individual treatment plan & unit program guidelines. Recognizes & reports pain & safety issues. Takes measures to provide relief / safety. Takes and documents vital signs, weights, and heights. Orients patients to the unit & facility with emphasis on procedures & standard practices. Maintains professional demeanor in dress, attitude, support of unit milieu, & hospital mission & philosophy. Exhibits regular & required attendance. Accepts other duties as assigned |
