VMG Nurse Practitioner (Pediatric Pulmonary)

Your Role:
The NP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice/education and provides an environment of safe quality care. The NP demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical/technical competence, sound clinical judgment, professional communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and is responsible for professional development and competency validation. The Allergy Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care as a billing provider.
Supervisor: Clinical Director of the Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Clinic
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Patient Care Services
- Minimum of seven (7) half day clinic sessions for pediatric patients with asthma, allergies, sinus disease and immunodeficiency in the Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Clinic which may include 1-2 late afternoon/evening clinics or Saturday clinics
- Provide shot coverage as needed
- Supervision of the administration of allergy immunotherapy in the clinic
- Ensure adherence to clinical pathways/protocols to achieve an environment of safe quality care
- Maintain timely and compliant documentation using the electronic medical record, per VMG standards
- Provide Patient Education about Allergy and Immunology Diagnoses
- Coordinate Clinic Administrative Responsibilities
- Review Patient Records
- Field patient phone calls
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintenance of Basic Life Support Heal Care Provider card
- Maintenance of Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification within one (1) month of hire
Position Qualifications:
Required:
Master's Degree (or equivalent experience) and < 1 year experience. 12 months of nursing experience preferred; Inpatient acute care advanced practice nursing experience desirable.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration (LCR):
Registered Nurse Required
Additional Qualification Information:
Prefer National Specialty Board Certification, TN APN certificate/certificate of fitness to prescribe, eligible for DEA
