VICTR Research Projects Coordinator 2 (Health Policy Services Analyst 2)
Your Role
In your pivotal role as a Research Projects Coordinator 2, you will be responsible for providing support for complex qualitative and quantitative research projects in health, public health, health policy, health services research or related disciplines under occasional guidance. You will utilize intermediate level scientific knowledge and research skills to perform a variety of research and operations-related activities data management, analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, report preparation and management of project budgets and schedules for proposals and projects. In this position you will integrate policy with research by continuously monitoring and reviewing both the research and policy landscapes and advising on course corrections for either or both, if/when necessary.
Performance Elements
1. Coordinates research projects
- Serves as a bridge between clinical and research teams to facilitate use of VICTR tools and resources and for determining future needs.
- Works closely with the department director, project managers and/or principal investigators to ensure projects are completed and are in compliance.
- Writes Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Manual of Procedures (MOPs), and ensure all documentation is compliant.
- Maintains documentation as needed for projects and programs.
- Uses quantitative and qualitative research methods skills to participate in the design, coordination and conduct of research projects.
- Fosters collaboration between team members, both internal and external to the department.
- May coordinate focus groups or participate in other qualitative data collection.
2. Data management and analysis
- Reviews study files and produces queries for network sites.
- Compiles data, conducts research assignments, summarizes and present findings, and prepares flow charts and Excel worksheets to update and represent research progress
- Integrates data by linking clinical data to bench results and bioinformatics data output.
- Archives study specific documentation and correspondence.
- Uses advanced programming and statistical expertise to manage and analyze data.
- Responsible for managing large and/or complex datasets.
- Coordinates development of datasets, data cleaning, data validation, and data reporting.
- Summarizes and interprets complex analyses.
- Maintains detailed documentation of data management and programming codes.
3. Prepares materials and drafts sections of presentations and written documents
- Assists in writing grants, progress reports and protocols and manages submission deadlines for federal funding opportunities.
- Prepares materials for presentations.
- Organizes and formats data for presentations, publications, and internal use.
- Creates charts, graphs, and tables to summarize analysis results.
- Drafts section of research proposals.
- Contributes to peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts.
