KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -
The laboratory of Dr. Pozzi in the Division of Nephrology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine is offering a position for RAIII. The candidate must have a four-year bachelor's degree in health science, laboratory science, chemistry, biology, or another life science from an accredited college or university. The candidate is required to have experience with small animal husbandry (e.g. genotyping, backcrossing), mouse procedures (collection of blood and tissue, gavage , tail vein injection ), experience with survival rodent surgery (mouse models of kidney injuries preferrable), molecular biology ( PCR, cloning, qPCR ) , and cell culture (isolation and maintenance of primary cells). In addition, the candidate will be responsible for:
- Organization and maintaining of common non-chemical stocks - (e.g., gloves, paper towels, pipet tips, etc.).
- Organization and maintaining of common chemicals, reagents, enzymes
- Being lab liaison - a one-person contact point for all outside academic and nonacademic/sales inquiries.
- Setting up service calls for damaged equipment
- Ordering - putting through order requests to the dept office is away.
- General lab assistance to help the lab on projects
