Program Manager, Aspirnaut(tm)
" Providing Research Opportunities for Talented Youth from Rural and Diverse Backgrounds"
The program manager supports the Aspirnaut(tm) program, a K-20 STEM pipeline program to increase the numbers and diversity of the STEM workforce and reports directly to the Associate Director. The program manager works with the Executive Director and Associate Director to plan, coordinate, and execute the summer research internship program and all other activities associated with the Aspirnaut(tm) program. The program manager:
- Develops and implements logistics necessary to successfully carry out the summer research internship program, including management of recruitment processes, onboarding, and oversight of resident counselors.
- Analyzes data and prepares reports to inform and make recommendations for the program's ongoing development.
- Provides information about the program in response to inquiries from faculty, staff, students, and educators from a broad spectrum of backgrounds and levels of education.
- Organizes annual budgets that maximize efficient use of resources by writing specifications, negotiating, and monitoring agreements for the procurement of services, supplies, and equipment, including housing, testing, and supply contracts.
- Possesses excellent interpersonal, professional, and written communication skills.
The role involves limited travel throughout the academic year. Evening and night work are expected during the summer program. Flexibility and growth regarding an evolving role are critical to the success of this position.
