Position Summary:
Responsible for the skilled and competent delivery of Respiratory Care and Special Diagnostics Services ordered by a physician in accordance with established protocols set by the facility or other Health Care provider in the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the Cardiopulmonary system. These services may include but are not limited to: delivery of prescribed oxygen and aerosol therapy, pulse oximetry for oxygen titration, and administration and monitoring of all respiratory and therapeutic modalities which include aerosolized medications and arterial blood gas sampling and analyses. The RT II Diagnostic Specialist position includes proficiency in the following: Bedside PFT testing, perform routine EKG�s, stress testing, pulmonary function testing, and holter tape scanning. May be required to attend to ER and Trauma patients as needed. Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Special Diagnostics department in the absence of the Director, Manager, and/or supervisory personnel. The RTII therapist is also responsible for documenting and maintaining shift coverage in the event of sick call or no show and dividing and distributing work assignments to all Special Diagnostics personnel.

EDUCATION:
Minimum: Associates Degree - Graduate of an AMA respiratory therapist program.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
EXPERIENCE: minimum l year experience in an acute care setting/emphasis on cardiac rhythm recognition.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
Current Florida License as a Respiratory Therapist, NBRC RRT credential, ACLS, BLS, (PALS is optional.)
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Skills in EKG, Pulmonary Function Testing, Stress Testing and/or Holter Monitoring/Scanning, Trauma and Open heart care.
