We are looking for an Azure/Google Cloud (GCP) architect to join our growing cloud platform team in designing and developing solutions to support our clinical research teams in Azure/GCP.
As a member of the cloud platform team, you will collaborate with other cloud architects and engineers to ensure VUMC policies are adhered to, as well as look for cross platform synergies and technology alignment. Additionally, you will be relied upon to ensure proper documentation is in place and our FISMA Moderate+ security concerns are met.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, plan and Implement cloud solutions
Assists with Strategic Planning and short- and long-term roadmaps.
Provides scalable platforms for deployment of applications and infrastructure.
Provides trend analysis with actionable items.
Designs, develops, enhances, and maintains processes.
Coaches and reviews the work of junior level professionals.
Manages projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision.
Define improved deployment and configuration management by way of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling such as Ansible and / or Terraform as needed.
Perform TCO and security analyses for planned cloud service integrations
Solid understanding of architecture and design and shares technical expertise clearly and effectively with all levels of management
Required Qualifications
3+ years of success working as a cloud solutions architect
Experience with cloud automation technologies including but not limited to terraform, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Powershell, Bash, YAML, and serverless technologies.
Experience using Agile, DevOps, and DataOps delivery practices and methodologies
Compressive knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Pipelines as Code (PaC) , Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
Strong understanding of cloud/software architecture, preferably using Microsoft Azure and/or GCP cloud platforms, design patterns, and cloud operations.
Excellent presentation skills, ability to prepare, present and communicate to members of IT, business units, and partners
Experience in multiple phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Preferred Qualifications
Azure and/or GCP certifications
Experience with cloud networking including hub and spoke topology, hybrid networks and site to site VPN connections
Experience with migrating on-premises workloads to Azure/GCP
