RN Clinical Informaticist Specialist Full Time Days Position Summary
The hospital clinical informatics specialist (CIS) under direct supervision from the hospital clinical informaticist and according to established policies and procedures functions as an electronic medical record (EMR) system expert and is responsible for assisting in the testing, training, implementation, support and optimization of the EMR and other clinical systems. The CIS provides direct support in the implementation and optimization of clinical applications, projects and initiatives.
The CIS integrates clinical knowledge and informatics expertise to successfully integrate technology into clinical workflow optimizing the EMR experience and promoting end user adoption. The CIS will be knowledgeable in the use and application of data to improve clinical workflow. The CIS will provide direct support to the hospital clinical informaticist in using data to drive clinical outcomes.
The CIS is responsible for purposeful hospital rounding; providing direct support to providers and nurses to ensure end users successfully integrate the EMR into clinical workflow. The CIS ensures consistant and effective use of the EMR that aligns with policy, procedure and standards. The CIS will create education content to communicate and educate providers and clinicians in EMR changes, initiatives and projects.
The CIS regularly provides suggestions and seeks feedback from physicians and clinicians regarding the EMR. The CIS identifies issues, performs systems testing to trouble-shoot the issue, logs tickets with customer support, escalates to the clinical informaticist and tracks the issue ensuring timely problem resolution.
The CIS collaborates with the hospital CI and MDI to improve physician and clinicians satisfaction with the EMR, promote �voice of the customer� and improve IS service and support.
Qualifications:RN CLINICAL INFORMATICIST SPECIALIST FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

Education/Other Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the state of practice
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing
- Certification in nursing informatics with ANCC eligible
- Minimum three years experience in clinical nursing
- Ability to develop, maintain and collaborate with clinicians
- Ability to problem-solving and resolve conflict
- Understands clinical workflow and has the skill set to integrate technology into clinical practice
- Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills required
- Must serve as a model of credibility, professionalism, and customer service
- Regarded as a highly visible and motivated to perform job duties as assigned
- Competent user of Microsoft Office products
