PURPOSE OF POSITION: Under the supervision of an attending urologist; the resident will use various forms of technology and assessment to help diagnose and treat the presence of illness. Works on a supplemental basis. The resident in conjunction with the training program will monitor the supplemental hours to ensure the resident is in compliance with the ACGME rules.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES???Patient Care
Perform direct patient care of pediatric patients under the supervision of an attending urologist and within the scope of their medical license. Examine patients, obtain medical history, diagnose illnesses and/or injuries based on imaging and related tests, and also recommend additional exams or treatment plans if necessary. Work effectively with physicians in order to use all the information and tools at their disposal while attempting to diagnose.

Provide for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred or discharged. Provide data which will contribute to the assessment of a patient's needs, the organization's capability to provide care or treatment and the appropriate level of care. Provide effective communication to trainees and attending physicians in all subspecialties of the institution.
???Regulatory Compliance
Residents must meet the required qualifications at all times. The resident is responsible to ensure that the supplemental hours worked at CCHCM are in compliance with all ACGME rules if applicable.

Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations. Follow Cincinnati Children's established code of ethical behavior in decisions and actions regarding marketing, admission, transfer, discharge and billing. Review timeliness, accuracy, availability and security of information.
QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired:???Training certificate from the State of Ohio OR Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio
???Letter of approval from the appropriate Residency Program Director
???Actively enrolled in a residency training program administered or recognized by CCHMC
???Completion of appropriate credentialing and/or approval processes
Preferred:???Adv Cardiovascular Life Supprt OR Pediatric Advanced LifeSupport AND CPR certification
