Overview
Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Registered Respiratory Therapist primarily working Nights at Morristown Medical Center.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Function:
- Administering safe and competent respiratory care
- Reviewing and communicating physician orders
- Administering of medications
- Performing patient assessments
- Understanding implication of hemodynamic and pulse oximetry monitoring
- Performing arterial blood punctures and analysis
- Assisting with transport and monitoring of ventilated patients
- Documenting therapeutic information in the patient's medical record and on other forms
- Assisting with lifting, rolling and proning of patients
- Performing according to approved infection control policies and procedures
- Working with the diagnostic teams is areas of bedside bronchoscopy and COPD education
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Associate of Science degree from an accredited respiratory therapist program, required
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree, highly preferred
License/Certification:
- Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), required
- Credentialed as Certified or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist, expected to have or obtain with 12 months of hire
- Active license for Respiratory Therapy in New Jersey, required. Advanced and Basic Life Support certification, required
Minimum Experience Required:
- 1-2 years of Respiratory Care experience
- Critical care experience, highly preferred
- Previous experience with PFT studies and cardiopulmonary testing, highly preferred
- Current or past experience with EPIC charting, highly preferred
