Summary:
Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in Pediatrics. This opportunity requires a skilled, compassionate professional who enjoys working with children with various medical complexities to provide Massage Therapy Services.
 
Responsibilities:
- Provide Massage Therapy Services for Pediatric inpatient and outpatient populations (and occasionally adults)
- Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in therapeutic treatment for individuals with terminal or chronic illnesses and/or developmental disabilities with the added benefit of reduced opioid use
- Collaborate with Physician teams to develop individualized care plans for pain, hematology and oncology, rehab, and post-surgical patients, etc.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
- Other duties as required.
 
Other information:
Technical Expertise
- Previous experience working with chronic pediatric pain patients is preferred.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary care teams is preferred
- Experience in healthcare is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Experience utilizing EPIC software is preferred.
Education and Experience
- Education: High School Diploma is required
- Certification: Current State of Ohio Massage Therapy License is required
