PRIMARY FUNCTION
To clean and assemble respiratory care equipment. To order, unload, unpack, and verify supplies and equipment ordered for Respiratory Care including the delivery and inventory /restocking of supplies. To assist therapists in obtaining equipment for critical patient situations. To maintain critical supplies such as code blue and airway boxes.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responds to patient crisis situations to assist Respiratory Therapist with equipment and/or supplies.

- Performs device check, breaking down, processing and reassembling of respiratory equipment. Cleans and assembles respiratory therapy equipment as appropriate.
- Orders Respiratory Care supplies as needed
- Verifies accuracy of delivery (over shipments and shortages) of Respiratory Care supplies and notifies receiving clerk or manager of any discrepancies.
- Inspects for damages and expiration dates.
- Places all supplies received onto shelves in Respiratory Care supply closet.
- Inventories all respiratory par supplies on all nursing units at Christiana hospital.
- Delivers all stock required for replenishment and distributes and stocks those designated areas at Christiana hospital.
- Understands and follows universal precaution guidelines when processing equipment.
- Completes yearly system-wide education.
- Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor in a timely manner any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
- Performs other related duties as required.

- Maintains and resupplies equipment:

• Code Blue / Airway boxes / RRT box
• Performs High Level Disinfection on equipment
• Maintains competency on HLD

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduate or equivalent.
