Job Description:

The successful applicant will become a member of the Marshfield Lab and Pathology Service. The primary responsibilities include participation with our current dermatopathologist in the sign out and coverage of Dermatopathology at hospitals and clinics across the growing Marshfield Clinic Health System in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Dermatopathology service currently consists of approximately 16,000 cases per year from dermatology departments (which includes a dermatology residency program) as well as various MCHS primary care providers, surgeons, and surgical oncologists. The service consists of a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient cases, including neoplastic, inflammatory (rashes and alopecia cases), and infectious diseases. Interest in cytopathology, general surgical pathology or other anatomic subspecialty area desirable. Recent graduates or current fellows are encouraged to apply.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Shared coverage of dermatopathology service with another board certified dermatopathologist

• Participation in weekly dermatopathological CPC conferences with the Dermatology department

• Participation in dermatology resident education including weekly slide sessions as well as dermatopathology service resident rotations

• Willingness to provide backup coverage for general surgical pathology as needed

• Medical directorship for outlying laboratories with an expectation of some travel for on-site visits

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a matrixed environment
