RWJBarnabas Health and Children’s Specialized Hospital are Seeking a Section Chief of Pediatric Physiatry in New Jersey
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a full-time Section Chief for Physiatry at Children’s Specialized Hospital. The Section Chief, who will be primarily based in Union, NJ, will be responsible for overall clinical quality improvement and clinical leadership for the section in alignment with the mission and vision of Children’s Specialized Hospital. Physician alignment, patient safety, medical staff development, clinical information systems and clinical outcomes are all foci of this position. Ideal candidates will have experience working in Pediatric Physiatry and will be able to demonstrate previous leadership experience.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Working with the medical staff to establish a culture of evidence-based best practices through a common vision, goals, and metrics.
- Collaborating with leadership to deliver high quality, cost effective, patient care by setting clear expectations and by working as the conduit and facilitator between administration and the medical staff.
- Developing, instituting, and directing section related patient care programs and participating in long range planning in conjunction with the CMO and the leadership team.
- Provide leadership for the Clinical Department Heads, manage post graduate educational activities, and work closely and cooperatively with board and senior management.
- Serve on institutional committees and assist with special projects as directed by the CMO and by senior leadership.
Candidate requirements:
- Board Certified Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) degree required.
- NJ licensed or eligible for NJ licensure
- AHA BLS Provider Certification required.
- Must meet accreditation requirements set forth by the rules and regulations of the medical staff.
Preferred candidates will have:
- Graduate degree in business, management or medical management.
- Broad knowledge of modern healthcare administration, practices and principles within a highly complex healthcare system.
- A balanced understanding of health care financial, operational, and human dimensions for various types of health care services, including knowledge of population-based outcomes improvement processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A positive outlook in order to provide clear direction with a results-oriented cycle, both within and outside the organization.
