DescriptionSUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Therapists who diagnose and then treat individuals who have mental, behavioral, and emotional disorders.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES???Program Management
Leads major programs, projects and activities of the Perlman Center. Monitors and responds to situations that affect daily program operations as they impact patients and families of the Perlman Center. Assists in the development, maintenance and oversight of program policies and protocols as they interface with other Departments. Participates as a member of the Perlman Center Leadership team, providing ongoing input to planning, evaluating and implementing programs at the Perlman Center. Takes the lead in ongoing assessment of current needs of target patient population and development of programs/approaches that are responsive to these needs. Takes an active role in planning for community, regional and/or national educational and training events and conferences offered by the Perlman Center. Leads discussions at Perlman staff meetings. Consults on program evaluation strategies and collection of data for funding sources.
???Intake Process
Coordinates the Perlman Intake Process. Leads education and training for families regarding their rights and responsibilities for their children and their transition to school. Develop plans and strategies for supporting families of the Perlman Center and leads clinical and program staff in their implementation. Fosters and maintains relationships with external agencies that are sources of resources, supports and service coordination. Counsel and advocate for families. Collaborate with providers to insure coordination and continuity of care.
???Team Leadership
Reduces team communication conflicts by enhancing team collaboration and transparency. Participates in a zero tolerance for an unsupportive staff environment by intervening with other staff if observing unsupportive behaviors and/or contacting the Director for intervention. Resolves conflict and supports staff in their professional empowerment. Chooses opportunities to offer problem solving and/or supports positive health care team dynamics, exercising diplomacy, patience and tact. Leads the Perlman multidisciplinary team, providing parent perspective and advocacy. Works with teams to ensure program services are provided in a safe and effective manner. Fosters relationships within CCHMC and provides leadership in the area of care of patients with complex physical conditions/disabilities and their families through guidance and supportive education. Establishes collaborative relationships with community and school-based personnel to support and coordinate patient care.
???Community Development
Develops relationships with the community providers, agencies and physicians to insure that families have knowledge about and access to the Perlman Center. Develops and fosters relationship with schools and school personnel to insure successful transitions and school integration of Perlman patients. Coordinates team transition planning. Coordinate communication of information and coordination of services for patients throughout the school years.
???Process Improvement
Participates in ongoing review of data and processes to improve patient and program outcomes. Monitors service areas, recommends approaches for improvement activities, assist in the design of new processes, review and report performance over time, improves and redesigns processes based on the evaluation, and reassess continuously. Participates in planning and implementing best practice approaches to improve outcomes.
QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired:??? Masters degree in related field. May require clinical license, certification or training
