JOB SUMMARY: Applies a variety of basic, intermediate and advanced statistical genetic techniques and technical skills to promote the collection, analysis and interpretation of data arising from research studies. program.The team is looking for a Statistical Genetic Analyst for the Center for Precision Medicine (www.vumc.org/cpm/) in the Department of Biomedical Informatics (https://www.vumc.org/dbmi/). This position will be working on a small, highly collaborative team that works with clinicians and geneticists to conduct research in clinical genetics and genomics. The position will work with data from electronic health record data and biorepositories to perform various kinds of data analysis. Experience in languages such as R, Python, Pearl and MySQL is recommended. A background in biology or genetics is a plus, though not required. We hope to find someone who is motivated to help people who are affected by genetic disease get diagnosed in a timely manner and matched with the most effective treatments. This position has a remote option for the right person, but in person is preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates as a member of a research team on the design of a research project.
Assists the research team in the design of methods to collect information.
Participates in the development of operations and procedures for the collection, editing, verification and management of data.
Collaborates as a member of a research team on the implementation and analysis of a research project.
Implements analysis, including data verification and data correction using appropriate hardware and software for the management and analysis of data.
Manipulates standard data formats to create input and output formats for software.
Assists in the publication of research projects.
Participates in the preparation of reports and presentations summarizing data analysis results using appropriate methods and techniques.
