Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and the Department of Pediatrics at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (NUFSM) seek to recruit full-time Pediatric faculty to the Division of Emergency Medicine.
Located on the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (NUFSM) campus in the heart of downtown Chicago, this state-of-the-art, freestanding children’s hospital includes a 35-bed Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center emergency department (ED).
The Division currently has 38 pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) faculty, 8 emergency pediatrician faculty, and 20 pediatric advanced practice providers. Lurie Children’s is home to one of the longest-standing PEM fellowship programs in the nation with 3 fellows per year. In addition to providing direct emergency care, faculty participate in the supervision and training of medical students, paramedic and physician assistant students, advanced practice nurses, residents (pediatrics, emergency medicine, and family medicine), and PEM fellows. The Division has established cutting edge telemedicine, robust quality improvement, and innovative medical education simulation programs.
Academically, our division engages in rigorous research, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, local and national advocacy, and advanced medical education programs. We are a well-established site within national research collaboratives. Pediatric faculty have the opportunity to teach students and trainees daily, including NUFSM MS3 students during their core pediatric clerkship. Extensive mentoring and collaborative opportunities for faculty are readily available within the Division and at NUFSM.
Lurie Children’s Hospital and NUFSM are strongly committed to diversity and equity as critical to the mission of advancing excellence in academic programs, world-class research, and health programs. Our central objective is to advance the health and wellbeing of diverse populations. Applications are encouraged from diverse applicants and we are committed to supporting faculty to work in an increasingly diverse society by promoting equity and justice for all individuals, actively working to eliminate barriers and obstacles created by institutional discrimination.
