The role you’ll contribute:
Britain Development is an early intervention program for children from birth through six years of age with special needs. The paraprofessional assists the teachers, therapists, and other team members to support the overall function of the department. The paraprofessional works closely with the staff to support the children in their classroom and therapeutic environments
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Provide direct support to children under the supervision of the ECSE, PT, OT, SLP, MT, and BCBA to assist children to develop maximum cognitive, communication, self-help, social, motor, and sensory processing skills.
- Assist with self-care routines including diapering, feeding, toilet training, and hand washing.
- Assist classroom teachers to prepare materials and equipment, organize the classroom and storage areas.
- Assist with maintaining and ordering of supplies.
- Substitute for teachers and/or paraprofessionals when they are absent.
- Participate in therapy sessions and parent conferences as appropriate
Qualifications The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred qualifications: 1-2 years of position related experience
