Position Information:
The Mobile Dispatcher coordinates emergent and non-emergent requests for patient transportation to/from medical centers and is responsible for the processing, triage, dispatch and coordination of rotor-wing (Air Mobile) and ground ALS, BLS, WC, Neonatal - Pediatric, and Critical Care transports from the Communications Center located in Raleigh, NC. Responds to requests for transport, collects pertinent demographic data, determines and contacts appropriate accepting physician, appropriate transport unit division or agency, obtains bed assignments for transported patients, maintains the transport database utilizing real time data entry, and provides transport crews with all necessary information. Obtains vehicle position reports through duration of each transport and follows aircraft landings (computer aided and/or manual sectional charts) and initiates emergency action plans in case of incident/accident. Coordinates patient transportation needs and the appropriate service with physicians, nurses, social workers, critical care clinicians, and clinical administrators.
Experience Requirements:
1 Year Telecommunications And Data Entry And Dispatch - Critical Care Transport Required - And 1 Year Dispatch - Flight Operations Preferred
Education Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required - And Associate's Degree Related Field Preferred
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Emergency Medical Technician - Basic Preferred - And NAACS Certified Flight Coordinator Preferred
Hours of Work:
Three days per week. One Saturday and one Sunday per month rotating track
Weekend Requirements:
