Children’s Medical Group in Cumberland, Maryland, seeks a pediatrician to join us. Our group consists of 5 pediatricians, one physician assistant, and two nurse practitioners. All of the physicians are board certified in pediatrics and are Fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics. We serve as preceptors for medical students, physician assistant and nurse practitioner students who rotate through our office from the University of Maryland and other universities.

   The large majority of our work, ambulatory pediatrics, takes place in our private practice office, with each clinician seeing about 20-25 patients per day. Patients come to us from Allegany and Garrett Counties in Western Maryland, Northeast West Virginia, and Somerset and Bedford Counties in Pennsylvania. We are a freestanding facility, designed to provide comprehensive pediatric care. Our on-site lab is CLIA-approved.

   All of our physicians are members of the medical staff at our local hospital, UPMC- Western Maryland. We serve as consultants to hospital and Emergency Department staff and care for the occasional Pediatric Observation unit patients. Children and adolescents who require full hospital stays are transported to an appropriate tertiary center, usually Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh or West Virginia University Hospital.

   The local hospital level II B nursery is staffed by neonatologists who care for newborns until discharge. We do not attend deliveries nor round in the nursery. Newborns typically begin their care with us 1-2 days after nursery discharge.

   Candidates may qualify for medical school loan repayment through the National Health Service Corps.
