Position Summary & Mission Join our dynamic team as we assist children, adults and families at the Spanaway Clinic in their personalized journey toward recovery and wellness. Our teams provide individualized, person-centered clinical case management services including therapy, child and family teams, psycho-education, groups, educational and/or vocational support, outreach, crisis stabilization, and assistance with medical, community and natural supports. Our friendly and professional therapists partner with clients, their families, and significant others in obtaining, maintaining, and using appropriate mental health and community resources. Together we focus on helping clients attain their goals, providing hope and motivation, as clients heal and develop resiliency. As a Mental Health Therapist at Greater Lakes you will provide counseling to help clients re-establish self-identity, sense of purpose and meaning in their lives, which may include developing plans for school, work and/or volunteering, and making community connections. Greater Lakes assists with licensure supervision at no cost to the employee. Individuals proficient in a second language are encouraged to apply. Qualifications
Therapist 1- Must have a Bachelor's degree in a mental health related discipline from an accredited college or university and at least two years post bachelors experience in the direct treatment of mental health issues or a Master's degree in a mental health related field, which included a clinical internship.
Therapist II - Master's degree in a mental health related field plus two years of mental health experience under the direction of a Mental Health Professional (MHP) and must be a recognized Mental Health Professional as defined in WAC 388-865-0150/RCW 71.05.020.
Familiarity with the DSM-V and ability to apply diagnostic criteria.
Knowledge of community resources
Knowledge of and experience in using Motivational Interviewing preferred
Experience working with the publicly-funded mental health system preferred
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
Strong knowledge of major mental illnesses, including assessment, symptoms, and treatments
