Department of Veterans Affairs - Clinical Geneticist - Full Time
The Veterans Healthcare Administration (VHA) proudly provides the highest quality integrated care for over 9M Veterans across the country in 18 different Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISN). The National Genomic Medicine Service (GMS) provides telehealth services to 80 different VA facilities in the nation. You will join a large clinical team including geneticists, genetic counselors, and genetic clinical assistants. We invite applications for a full-time clinical Geneticist.
Roles & Responsibilities
Provides care primarily via telehealth modalities with a periodic in-person clinic.
Provide care, genetic evaluation, coordinates genetic testing and counseling for adult patients across a broad range of genetic indications including but not limited to cardiology, cancer, neurology, endocrinology, connective tissue disorders, ophthalmology, nephrology, and disorders of sexual differentiation.
Serves as a collaborating physician for genetic counselors; and provides expert advice and guidance to VA providers and to VA program officials on a wide range of issues related to the delivery of medical genetics services, methods, and practices.
Participates in work groups, committees or learning activities and maintains board certification, CME requirements and licensure.
