Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center is recruiting for a Psychiatry trained Physician for a fulltime position working with inpatient adult services.  The Adult General Psychiatry and Chemical Dependency Treatment Program at Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center is a inpatient and partial hospitalization program staffed by a multidisciplinary treatment team of trained and experienced staff and physicians.  The staff and physicians are dedicated to the care and treatment of patients within the program.

 

The ideal candidate for this opportunity will be a Board Eligible/Certified Psychiatry Physician or an Addiction Psychiatry fellowship trained Psychiatrist with experience in treating patients with substance abuse treatment issues.  

 

The Physician duties will include admission evaluations, daily care of patients, and treatment team leadership.  The physician staff is very collegial and there is strong clinical and administrative support in the position.  This is a full-time employed position with a reasonable call schedule and no weekend call.  A competitive salary, bonus structure and benefits package will be offered. An option of working as an independent contract can also be considered. 

 

1. MD/DO degree from an accredited program required
2. Board certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry required
3. Licensed to practice in the State of Virginia or ability to obtain a VA medical license.
4. Minimum of four years of training/practice experience
5. Inpatient experience preferred
6. Meets all credentialing criteria required by participating physicians
