Developmental Specialist – Early Intervention Specialist, North Suffolk Community Services, Inc. (Chelsea, MA): Coordinate and provide early intervention services and treatment to child and child/family clients using team approach, in home, program, or other community settings. Responsibilities include: provide early intervention screening/intake to children aged birth to three years and their families; evaluate and assess clients’ needs, situations, strengths, and assessments and service delivery; Functioning as part of interdisciplinary team; Facilitate and participate in development of IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan), and in the execution, review and evaluation of the plan; Develop and evaluate programs and services to ensure that basic client needs are met; Collaborate with client families to identify their concerns, priorities and resources; evaluate services provided to ensure efficacy; Coordinate full range of home-based and center/community-based services with early intervention team including contracted discrete therapy and FFS service providers; Provide education, advocacy, and support on child and parenting issues and information of community resources to client families; Refer for discrete/specialized child therapies and to other case management and counseling services when appropriate; Coordinate intervention service with medical, state, and health providers with family consent; Assist in developing a transition plan for child and family clients; and maintain all DPH, agency and program required documentation.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Relations, Developmental Psychology, Mental Health, Social Work, or a closely related field.
