Overview

St. Luke's Health System in Nampa/Fruitland, Idaho is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist 1 (1.0 FTE) to join our Hearing and Balance team.

Location: This position will be at the Nampa location 4 days and the Fruitland location 1 day per week.

Population served includes adult and pediatric patients with hearing loss and individuals with auditory processing disorder. The SLP will work within a collaborative network of professionals, including audiologists, vestibular therapists, and physicians to assess and treat delays related to hearing loss.

Position Summary

Helping patients maximize benefit from cochlear implants, hearing aids and assistive listening technologies. Family coaching to support Listening and Spoken Language development and Aural Rehabilitation. Candidates should possess interest in working with individuals with hearing loss and their families. Those who have experience with birth-3 population and Spanish-speaking families are especially encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Speech Language Pathologist (SLPs) are health care professionals who evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication and/or swallowing disorders or impairments in individuals or all ages, from infants to the elderly. Speech Language Pathologist Therapist performs all duties including technical skills in screening, evaluation, assessment, program planning, intervention and preventative care, at the full performance level.

• Perform initial and ongoing comprehensive evaluation including, but not limited to, collecting subjective and objective data, analysis of data, and creation of treatment plan.
• Administers interventions consistent with treatment plan based on evidence based best practice, provider protocol and governing standards.
• Follows policies and procedures in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements.
• Document care based on standards of practice, patient acuity and/or clinical priorities.
• Maintain professional relationships and convey relevant information to other members of the healthcare team within facility and any applicable referral agencies.
• Maintain patient confidence and protects organization operations by keeping information confidential.
• Independently manages the care of patients with conditions common to the unit/area of assignment. Exercises initiative and independent judgment. Manages caseload and maintains productivity standards for unit consistently.
• Serve as clinical mentor, as appropriate.
• Direct the work of aides and assistants, as appropriate.
• Identifies opportunities for program improvement and seeks appropriate guidance for implementing change.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

- Education: Degree from an accredited speech therapy program.- Experience: 0 years' experience - Licenses/Certifications: Valid license or provisional permit to practice speech therapy in state of practice and Current CPR/first responder certification
