Overview
St. Luke's Health System is seeking a Charge Capture Specialist 2 to join our team.
Must be located in Idaho or Oregon.
Unit/Position SummaryUnder limited supervision, the Charge Capture Specialist 2, is responsible for ensuring that all appropriate charges are captured to maximize revenue.
- Hospital Outpatient Surgical CPT Coding; Procedural CPT Coding experience preferred.
- Revenue Integrity and Charging functions including reviewing documentation for potential missed charges, reviewing documentation for appropriateness of charges, manually creating charges, and understanding of overall gross revenue accountability.
- Use your Coder certifications to continue improving your coding skillsets and advance years of experience in the Procedural Coding field!
-Front and back-end Revenue Cycle functions
- Clearly and appropriately communicate charging concerns, needs, and account-level resolutions with external teams including Surgical Services department leaders and other Revenue Cycle departments.
- Epic EMR and Workqueue experience preferred
- Previous Remote work experience preferred
- Flexible schedule: Monday-Friday (weekdays), early login available, easily adjust for appointments, family schedules, etc.

Responsibilities
- Identifies, analyze and reconciles billing errors or omissions by reviewing documentation and educate staff on proper charting techniques to reduce errors.
- Identifies discrepancies in documentation and reports findings to manager.
- Collects health information about services provided including demographic data, appropriate length of stay, third-party payer and continued stay reviews, and other related data concerning patients.
- Assigns codes for straightforward/complex recurring accounts by interpreting clinical data for reimbursement, planning, management, and statistical planning.
- Supports all providers in diagnosis coding as well as support billing with CPT and Diagnosis coding questions.
- Collaborates with department managers, directors and/or other designated contacts to continually improve and maintain the efficiency and accuracy of the overall charging process.
- Maintains the accuracy of charge capture documents and systems, including updating charge capture tools.
- Communicates with leadership, physicians or clinicians concerning diagnoses and procedures when questions arise.
- Analyzes and interprets company policies, procedures and state and federal regulations related to charge capture.
- Solves complex problems and seeks guidance for highly complex problems. May lead project teams. May serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.

Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 6 months experience in the field or related area.
- Licenses/Certifications: Must have at least one of the following credentials: RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), CCA (Certified Coding Associate), CPC-A (Certified Professional Coder - Apprentice), or any American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) coding credential, or any American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) coding credential.
