Nemours is seeking a Sleep Tech to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, DE.
The Sleep Tech/Sleep Medicine Patient Care Coordinator retains jobs duties from either the Respiratory Therapist or Polysomnography Technician role and in addition provides support, education, care coordination, and facilitation of scheduling for patients and families seen by sleep providers and retaining service in the sleep laboratory. The Sleep Medicine Patient Care Coordinator works directly with other ancillary staff (Medical Director, Advanced Practice Providers, Sleep Technologists, Respiratory Therapists, Authorization Specialists, Board Certified Sleep Providers, and others) to facilitate the best possible experience for patients within the sleep medicine program and reports to the Sleep Medicine Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee's supervisor.
- Maintains job responsibilities and licensure for either the Respiratory Therapist or Polysomnography Technician job descriptions (both must be able to do mask fittings and study scoring).
- Provides patient assessment, chart review, education, interdisciplinary communication/consultation, and supports patient care plans relative to patient care needs extending to outside healthcare team members and needs (DME and data downloads).
- Acts as liaison between families and members of the healthcare team.
- Participates in development of standards of care, policies, reliable methods, quality improvement and assurance programs, and hospital programs for accreditation and compliance.
- Utilization of computer technology (excel and other like products) to facilitate data entry, collection, and review.
- Exemplifies the Nemours core competencies and is open to feedback, change, and growth.
- Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette.
Travel between Nemours sites in the DE-Valley as required to support Sleep Medicine patients, providers, and services.
Requirements:
HS Diploma or equivalent
RPSGT OR RRT-SDS (or obtain within one year), AHA CPR
DE, NJ, PA licenses as applicable relative to primary role (RPSGT/RRT)
Three to five years experience
