The Surgical Advanced Practice Provider demonstrates knowledge, expertise and clinical competency in managing surgical patient populations. This role may also include First and Second Surgical Assist. The Surgical Advanced Practice Provider exercises independent judgement in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of medical processes and procedures, in accordance with the licensure regulations of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and as delineated in the written Scope of Practice and Protocol. Demonstrates respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines while using an integrated team-based approach to achieve desired patient outcomes. Participates in quality and best practice initiatives by utilizing standards and guidelines for cost effective care deliver
