Job Summary:
This position is accountable to provide occupational therapy services to patients, including assessment, treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation, communication with other disciplines and services, and staff supervision as agreed. Staff may care for all age groups from infants to elderly and is aware of the developmental needs over the age span and the appropriate equipment for all ages. This position must demonstrate a commitment of quality service to our patients, the public and our co-workers. Therapists will be accountable for their actions and strive to exceed customer expectations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Evaluates patients to for goal settings, treatment planning with implementation of the POC.
- Record and document patient evaluation, treatment and progress to accurately reflect the services provided and patient performance.
- Supervises therapy personnel/students as assigned.
- Keeps current knowledge on new programs and treatments and/or participates in special projects in the occupational therapy field.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Team Leader Duties:
- Lead department-specific Staff Meetings and huddles in collaboration with Manager.
- Manage daily operational activities related to the departmental budget.(i.e. ordering supplies, linen, etc.)
- Provides coaching and mentoring as needed.
- Assists with performance appraisals and disciplinary process in conjunction with manager as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
- NBCOT examination passed.
- Current Virginia State licensure required
- AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire
- Professional competency as a general practitioner as defined by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Qualifications for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Team Leader:
- Must have a successful performance appraisal and a strong commitment to the organization.
- Must have a minimum of two years of clinical PM&R experience.
- Must be team oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must demonstrate strong multi-tasking, facilitation, resolution and time management skills.
- Must be a full-time associate (.9 or higher).
- Must exhibit exemplary customer service and a positive attitude.
