Shift: 8am – 4:30pm
Location: AdventHealth Hendersonville
The role you’ll contribute: Provides financial counseling to patients and families in accordance with the facility‘s policies. Assist patients/families with financial arrangements including financial assistance, for qualified patients, from outside Agencies.
The value you’ll bring to the team
- Answers all phone calls in a prompt and courteous manner while ensuring that all calls are attended to and not dropped or missed.
- Reviews and answers all patient correspondence, via phone, mail, administration, and offices.
- Creates and approves payment arrangements; reviews with patient different payment options and possible financial assistance, i.e., state and local agencies, indigent care.
- Meets with patient/family to obtain satisfactory payment agreement for all parties.
- Reviews patient charges; evaluates patient’s assets and liabilities to determine patient payment schedules.
- Communicates with financial agencies, assist patients, regarding patient eligibility and/or financial settlement.
- Monitors and maintains Work Items/CFUM’s for all facilities.
- Prepares patient itemized bill upon request; explain charges, payments and adjustments.
- Monitors patient accounts; initiates collection procedures when appropriated.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- High School graduates or equivalent required.
- One year experience required in medical billing, collections and insurance.
- Customer service, Must work well with others, EPIC experience, knowledge of insurances, basic computer skills (navigating spreadsheets, emails)
